Unshaded mountain sencha from +100 years old (!) zairai tea trees carefully cultivated using organic farming methods by Mr. and Mrs. Iwasaki in the pristine and largely untouched natural environment of Ryōgōchi, Shizuoka.
Despite the rustic appearance of the tea leaves, the Iwasaki family’s zairai sencha infuses into a mild and smooth green tea with a naturally simple, pleasantly “baked” and inherently sweet profile.
Here, too, are refreshing hints of grasses and wild herbs, accompanied by a soothing sense of warmth that gently spreads through the body shortly after the first sip — a quiet reminder of the high age and deep roots of the tea trees.
