teahouse

い ほ

io in Japanese
( いほ;庵;廬 )
means ‘hermitage’;

a small, temporary dwelling, typically somewhat remotely located, where it is possible to find a moment of peace and quiet.

With io the teahouse, we wish to present Japanese tea and tea culture as seen from the perspective of our small "dwelling" - with focus on artisanal teas grown free of pesticides and artificial fertilisers and in close collaboration with local tea producers and craftsmen in Japan.

Welcome to io.
