いほについて
io いほ is a Copenhagen-based teahouse dedicated to the exploration of the potential of Japan’s organic and naturally farmed teas.
We source all of our teas directly from the Japanese tea producers with a focus on the cultivation of tea gardens without the use of pesticides and artificial fertilisers.
We are in particular interested in small-scale tea productions which are able to convey a distinct expression of their terroir, and it is important to us that the tea producers– who also grow the tea which they produce themselves – are being paid a fair price for their work.
We visit their tea gardens on a regular basis and work to build meaningful and long-lasting relationship, for we believe in the importance of understanding the local environment and knowing the people behind each tea that we sell and serve.
In io you moreover will find a selection of Japanese tea utensils and crafts that are being regularly exhibited and replaced.
