Unshaded medium-steamed sencha from Mr and Mrs Iwasaki’s family tea gardens, grown by organic farming methods on a pristine forest-covered mountainside in Ryōgōchi, Shizuoka.
A warm and buttery mouthfeel transforms into refreshing sensations of lush mountain greenery backed by a clean astringency, a testimony to the unshaded nature of the leaves.
Gradually, a pleasantly sweet aftertaste emerges marked by a subtle sakura mochi-like note for which the Shizu-7132 cultivar is particularly known – an echo of the vivid aromas exuded by the finely rolled needle-like leaves.
