About Yukari Hotta | 堀田について

“My work is often based around the slow moving wonders of nature and daily coincidences, but also the people around me. I enjoy studying old trees, stones and plants as well as the human body. The way nature grows is very fascinating to me, especially slowly over time.”

Yukari Hotta is a Japanese artist based in Copenhagen who primarily works with clay from a sculptural point of view. Her works are often unglazed and characterized by soft, almost anthropomorphic forms that feel at once familiar and strange – punctuated by a hole that allows the piece to breathe.
