Hand-carved chashaku matcha measuring spoon in white hachiku bamboo from Chikumeidō in Takayama, Nara.
The white bamboo is grown locally in Nara and slowly dried in Takayama for up to three years before use.
Chikumeidō is a traditional family-run bamboo workshop that has been creating bamboo utensils for the Japanese tea ceremony for more than 300 years. Today, Chikumeidō is led by Kubo Sabun, twenty-fourth generation of an unbroken line of master bamboo artisans based in Takayama, Nara.

Comes in a cardboard box decorated with Japanese washi paper.
