Gokase Dentō Kamairicha | Pesticide-free and artificial fertiliser-free | 2026

五ヶ瀬 伝統釜炒り茶

Kamairicha in traditional (dentō) Kyūshū style, harvested from a single, unshaded garden of Yabukita trees growing in the mountainous village of Gokase, Miyazaki, at an elevation of approximately 500 metres above sea level.
The traditional pan-firing of the fresh spring leaves imparts a soothing sense of ‘kamairi’ warmth, which is also noticeable in the characteristic, almost roasted aroma of the tea, known in Japanese as 釜香 kamaka.
Gokase Dentō Kamairicha thus offers an alternative and today rather rare expression of Japanese green tea, where its spring-like vegetal notes and natural umami may recall sencha, while the traditional pan-firing bestows the tea leaves with a character entirely their own.
