Hira-kyūsu teapot | Takasuke Tōen | red

高資陶苑 平急須 朱泥

Large hira-kyūsu teapot with a fine-meshed ceramic filter and a perfect fit between body and lid.
The teapot’s open and flat (‘hira’) form offers a beautiful view of the tea leaves as they infuse and unfold while also making it suitable for brewing a wide range of teas, from large-leaf bancha to delicate gyokuro.
Crafted from red shudei clay with a red chara-gake slip by Takasuke Tōen – one of the renowned ceramic workshops in Tokoname, Aichi, and a pioneer of the Japanese ikomi technique in which each part of the teapot is slip-cast and subsequently assembled and finished by hand.

Holds up to 300ml.
