Chiran Nōen’s organic sencha with matcha – also known in Japanese as matcha-iri sencha – is undoubtedly the greenest of all our teas in io.
By combining 100% organic fukamushi sencha with Chiran Nōen’s own in-house stone-milled organic Matcha Wakamidori, the finely broken leaf material brews a vividly spring green tea with a refreshing vegetal character and pleasantly light-bodied umami structure – particularly suitable for cold brews in mizudashi style.

Cultivars: Asanoka, Asatsuyu, Yabukita, Yutakamidori

Age: 10-40 years

Altitude: 150-200 masl

Shade: covered 7-16 days prior to harvest

Gødning: homemade, fermented organic fertiliser made of organic by-products from the local fishing industry and agriculture in the Kagoshima region
