A delicate spring-harvested genmaicha from Mr. and Mrs. Iwasaki in Ryōgōchi, Shizuoka, where organically farmed Yabukita leaves are blended with a moderate amount of small, roasted organic genmai rice from Akita Prefecture.
Infused together, Ryōgōchi Genmaicha offers an unusually well-balanced genmaicha experience, where the roasted notes from the rice never overpower the spring-like nature of the sencha leaves.
Rather, the tea rests in a fine harmony between gentle sensations of roasted warmth and a clean, ocean-like umami — soothing and refreshing at the same time.
