Gokase Baisen Ichō Kamairicha | Pesticide-free and artificial fertiliser-free | 2023

五ヶ瀬焙煎萎凋釜炒り茶

A rare lightly wilted (ichō) kamairicha made from finely preserved 2023-vintage Unkai and Kanayamidori spring leaves, finished with a final roasting by tea farmer Yōichi Kōrogi himself in mid-January 2025.
The result is a pleasantly body-warming and highly fragrant semi-oxidized tea where a broth-like base of umami is complemented by notes of fragrant wood and sweet hints of milk for which the Kanayamidori cultivar is particularly known.
Grown free of any use of pesticides and artificial fertilisers at Rūpi Chaen in Gokase, Miyazaki.
