Description | 詳細
Chikumeidō Shin Chasen is hand-carved in Shin Kazuho form with approximately 70 tines depending on the thickness of the bamboo. The slightly wide and therefore robust tines of the Shin Kazuho Matcha whisks provide a high degree of durability and flexibility, making them suitable for both thin (usucha) and thick (koicha) tea. The bright bamboo is grown locally in Nara and has matured for about three years before use.
Chikumeidō is a traditional family-run bamboo workshop that has been creating bamboo utensils for the Japanese tea ceremony for more than 500 years. Today, Chikumeidō is led by Kubo Sabun, twenty-fourth generation master craftsman.
