Handmade by Mitsuaki Hasegawa, third generation tetsubin artisan at Ch\u014dbund\u014d foundry in Yamagata, Japan.<\/h5>\n<h5>Hasegawa-san creates a new mold for each tetsubin he produces, a highly laborious and nowadays increasingly rare manufacturing process. Thereby the natural richness of detail in the cast iron\u2019s surface is emphasized, and at the same time it becomes possible to craft kettles that are surprisingly light-weight due to the thinness of their casted walls \u2013 both notable features of traditional <em>Yamagata Imono, <\/em>cast iron from Yamagata. <\/h5>\n<h5>Ch\u014dbund\u014d tetsubin comes with a natural urushi lacquer coating on the inside. The kettle can be used on all heat sources including induction.<\/h5>\n<p><em>Please note that tetsubin kettles are only intended for heating water, and proper handling \u2013 including thorough drying at low heat after each use \u2013 is important.
