Naturally farmed 2018 vintage ichōka green tea from +50 years old Yabukita tea trees by Tsukigase Kenkō Chaen in Tsukigase, Nara.

萎凋 香 ichōka refers to the special processing step where tea leaves are allowed to wither lightly after harvest – a process which in Tsukigase Kenkō Chaen takes place in the shade of the nearby forest before the oxidation of the leaves is fixed by a mild asamushi steaming.

The tea has then been completed in Tamaryokucha style as the characteristic rolled-up appearance of the leaves also suggests. A beautifully processed and uniquely aromatic Japanese green tea, which gradually unfolds through successive steeps.
