Tea ceremony with Manabu Shiraishi

Wagashi master Manabu Shiraishi will hold a residency in io from Saturday November 16th to Saturday November 23rd during our tea bowl exhibition 此道 kono michi.
Here, Manabu-san invites you to an intimate daily tea ceremony for a maximum of three people at a time, serving usucha matcha and a freshly made seasonal wagashi in the middle room of io.

After purchase, an order confirmation will be automatically sent via email, which serves as the ticket for the selected tea ceremony. Please note that tickets are non-refundable.

The tea ceremony takes place on Japanese tatami mats, but stools are also available upon request.

About Manabu Shiraishi | 白石学について


Manabu Shiraishi originally trained as a traditional wagashi chef in Sapporo, Hokkaido, after which he worked as a wagashi master in the acclaimed restaurant Jin in Ginza, Tokyo. After Jin, Shiraishi-san has worked in New York and most recently in Paris, where he served wagashi as head pâtissier at Michelin-starred Chakaiseki Akiyoshi while also making wagashi for other traditional Japanese restaurants in Paris as well as for local tea ceremony groups.
