Wakamidori is a naturally refreshing and aromatic Matcha with brighter notes and a somewhat simpler form of expression compared to our Matcha Tokiwa from the same tea farmer. Highly suitable for both traditional ‘thin’ tea (usucha) and less formal everyday Matcha moments.

The gently stone-ground Matcha tea consists of a blend of the Asatsuyu and Kanayamidori cultivars, both of which were harvested in May 2019 after sixteen days of shade-growth. The combination of the two cultivars and their subsequent +18 months of maturation as Tencha bestows Wakamidori with a light-toned umami structure with notes of conifers and a mildly bitter edge which transforms into a milky-sweet finish for which Kanayamidori in particular is known.
