Organic winter Sencha of matured tea leaves from the early 2020 spring harvest of Chiran Nōen in Chiran, Kagoshima.

The tea leaves were harvested in April 2020 and has since been cold-stored until December of the same year when the tea was completed through a final hi-ire firing. The roasting was carried out more intensely compared to Chiran Nōen’s Sencha teas from other seasons, providing Fuyuhi with a more mellow, floral character and warming body sensation.

Cultivars: Asanoka, Asatsuyu, Saemidori, Yabukita, Yutakamidori

Age: 10-40 years

Altitude: 150-200 masl

Shade: covered 7-10 days prior to harvest

Fertilising: homemade fermented organic fertiliser made from leftover products from local agriculture and fishing industry
