Description | 詳細

Chikumeidō Shin Chasen is hand-carved in Shin Kazuho form with approximately 70 tines depending on the thickness of the bamboo. The slightly wide and therefore robust tines of Shin Kazuho Matcha whisks provide a high degree of durability and flexibility, making them suitable for whisking both thin (usucha) and thick (koicha) tea. The dark bamboo is grown in Japan and has been traditionally dried in Takayama for up to three years before being put to use – a 100% natural process ensuring the uncompromising quality and longevity of Chikumeidō’s matcha whisks. Comes in a cardboard box decorated with Japanese washi paper. Comes in a cardboard box decorated with Japanese washi paper.

Chikumeidō is a traditional family-run bamboo workshop that has been creating bamboo utensils for the Japanese tea ceremony for more than 500 years. Today, Chikumeidō is led by Kubo Sabun, twenty-fourth generation of an unbroken line of master bamboo craftsmen in Takayama, Nara.
